What guests say
8.1 / 10 · Very good on Booking.com, from 725 guest reviews
The Carmel Fireplace Inn wins consistent praise for its unbeatable walkable location, cozy charm, and cleanliness, making it a solid base for exploring Carmel-by-Sea. However, recurring complaints about thin walls, noise bleed between rooms, lack of air conditioning, and dated bathrooms with weak shower pressure suggest the property's comfort and facilities don't always match its price point. Guests who prioritise location and atmosphere over modern amenities tend to leave satisfied, while those expecting polished, well-appointed rooms may be disappointed.
