What guests say
8.8 / 10 · Very good on Booking.com, from 899 guest reviews
Barksdale House Inn earns consistently warm praise for its prime walkable location, genuinely welcoming staff, and well-regarded breakfast — with thoughtful touches like all-day coffee and a complimentary happy hour setting it apart from standard hotels. However, a handful of guests flagged housekeeping lapses, dated bathrooms, and inconsistently restocked amenity stations, suggesting the property's upkeep doesn't always match its considerable charm. Overall sentiment is strongly positive, making it a characterful and well-situated base for Charleston, with minor maintenance improvements needed to fully deliver on its historic appeal.
