What guests say
8.4 / 10 · Very good on Booking.com, from 319 guest reviews
Hotel Royal Oak earns consistently positive sentiment for its distinctive retro personality, genuinely warm staff, and handy downtown location, making it stand out as a characterful alternative to chain hotels. However, recurring practical frustrations — notably loud AC units, limited in-room seating, absent coffee makers, and occasional housekeeping lapses — temper the experience for guests expecting standard amenities. Overall, it delivers strong value for those who prioritise atmosphere and service over conventional hotel comforts.
