What guests say
8.9 / 10 · Very good on Booking.com, from 2,088 guest reviews
The Franciscan Hotel earns consistently strong praise for its prime Santa Barbara location — just two blocks from the beach and walkable to dining and the pier — backed by clean rooms, genuinely friendly staff, and practical perks like free parking and bicycles. Minor but recurring gripes include an unremarkable breakfast, pool maintenance lapses, limited in-room workspace, and inconsistent pillow comfort, and a handful of guests note the property has more of a motel feel than a full-service hotel. Overall sentiment across the reviews is warmly positive, with many guests explicitly saying they would return.
